JEE MAIN 2017 ANALYSIS

JEE MAIN 2017 offline paper was overall a balanced paper and was easier than the previous year's paper. Hence we expect cutoff to be higher by about 10 marks than previous year.
Last year the cutoff for ADVANCED eligibility was:
GENERAL : 100 Marks
OBC: 70 Marks
SC: 52 Marks
ST; 48 Marks

PHYSICS ANALYSIS: The paper was easy as compared to last year's paper. Paper had many direct and very less calculative questions. two questions (doppler in light and X rays) were beyond the prescribed syllabus.

Analysis of Physics Section

Physics this year was not the toughest section of the paper. The paper was easy as compared to last year's paper. Paper had many direct and very less calculative questions. two questions (doppler in light and X rays) were beyond the prescribed syllabus. So I feel a score of 80+ is a good score.

Analysis of Chemistry Section

The Physical Chemistry part was easier while the Organic part was much higher than the NCERT level. The questions from inorganic part were very few
.A score of 80+ is a good score.

Analysis of Mathematics Section

The paper was overall balanced and might be termed as the toughest section this year.Calculaus part was easy while the geometry questions involved lengthy calculations.  A score of 70+ is a good score.
